Turfgrass Pathology Visiting Scientists PDF Print E-mail

Viviana & AinhoaDr. Mike Boehm, OSU turfgrass pathologist, has two visiting scientists this summer working on dollar spot.  Viviana Barrera Perez (left) is a visiting research student, who will graduate from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago Chile upon completion of her undergraduate  thesis in Plant Pathology.  Her thesis work is being conducted here in the Turfgrass Pathology laboratory.  

 

Ainhoa Martinex Medina (right) is currently working on her PhD at the CSIC research center in Murcia, Spain.  She graduated in Enviornmental Sciences from Miguel Hernandez University.  She has received a prestigious fellowship to work on the relationship of Trichoderma and mycorrizal.  In addition, the fellowship, which lasts for four years, provides her with the opportunity to conduct research in other countries.   Working with Dr. Boehm, Ainhoa is looking at oxalic acid production and associated proteins associated with the turfgrass disease dollar spot.
