Matt Takes the Helm at Research Facility PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 June 2007

It's a great day for the Ohio State turfgrass science program!  Matt Williams has accepted the position as the new Program Coordinator in charge of running the OTF Research  & Education Facility.

Matt graduated from the OSU turf program in 2001. His broad turf management experience is second to none after working at Tartan Fields, Scioto Reserve, Cincinnati Reds Great American Ballpark and finally as Director of Stadium Grounds at Columbus Crew Stadium.

In addition to his regular jobs, Matt also took on projects with turf construction companies, concert protection system companies and worked with organizations like Premier Soccer Academies. He is a board member of The Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association and serves on the program planning committee for The Ohio Turfgrass Foundation.

Matt has had to hit the ground running, particularly with such a hot and dry summer to deal with. His short term goals are to update the irrigation system at the facility, increase student involvement, and work with local and regional vendors/distributors to advance the program.
