Liberty National Golf ClubThis past summer I interned at Liberty National.  The course is located in Jersey City, NJ which is approximately 4.5 miles from New York City and a 30 minute car ride from the Jersey shore.  Liberty National designed by Bob Cupp and Tom Kite opened in the summer of 2006.  The golf course is situated where it provides some amazing views of the Statue of Liberty, the Hudson River, the skyline of Manhattan, and the Verrazanos Bridge.   With 'A-4' bentgrass greens, 'L-93' tees and fairways, and Kentucky bluegrass roughs, Greg James, the golf course superintendent, has a challenge to maintain this exclusive golf course.  Due to a knee injury sustained in an OSU intramural hockey game, I was sidelined for most of the summer.  However, Mr. James was nice enough to give me a chance to work from August to September 2007.  For only being there a short period of time, I learned a lot from Mr. James and his assistants.  I would recommend this to any student looking for a summer internship.  Liberty National is a great environment to work and learn.  I would like to thank Michael O'Keeffe with the OSU International Intern Program for arranging the internship. -  Jonathon Price, Senior
