The Ohio State University

The Toro Company, in honor of Jack Nicklaus, has begun a $100,000 scholarship endowment at The Ohio State University.  The scholarship is to benefit an undergraduate freshman student in Turfgrass Science. 

Daniel Davis has been selected to receive the first-ever award of this scholarship.  Dan is from Liberty Center, Ohio and is a first generation four-year college student.  He got interested in golf as a high school sophomore and joined the golf team.  Dan has worked for three years at a golf course near his home.  He decided to major in turfgrass science because of his love for golf and for being on a golf course.  His career aspiration is to become a golf course superintendent, and he is a member of the University Turf Club.
