If you have been visiting buckeyeturf the last 6 months you may have noticed the four international websites under the umbrella organization of GlobalTurf Network TM (GTN).  GTN was created as the umbrella organization for our international efforts.  From an English language perspective the four websites are difficult to understand.  As a GTN member you get access to not only the English translations but much more…

As a GTN member you will gain access to

• State of the Art Technical information on turfgrass science in primarily English but also including Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, and Czech.
• Timely turfgrass management alerts
• Turfgrass training/educational podcasts
• Management programs for selected regions of the world
• Standard turf metrics
• Commentary on issues facing the turf industry.

GTN, located at http://goglobalturf.org is a subscription based membership costing 65 dollars a year.   HOWEVER, to build awareness, you can get a free 3-month subscription by going to the website  http://www.goglobalturf.org/content/3-month-subscription (might be slightly confusing, since it is not at the GTN regular front page)

The step by step process for signing up at the free site, is

1)      Go to: http://www.goglobalturf.org/content/3-month-subscription.  If you are not familiar with online registrations, follow the following instructions:

2)      You should see Price: 20.00 (no matter the language the free offer is only in English at this time)

3)      Click on “Add to Cart”

4)      You should now see “3 month subscription”, quantity – 1, total cost is 20.00, (if for some reason the number is higher than 1 just type in 1).  Click on “checkout” (Sometimes, a security code will come up.  I think this has to do with if you are already a member and are trying to add an email or account that the website recognizes.  Go ahead and click accepting the security risks … it’s not a problem because no credit card info will be asked for).

5)      Enter the information asked for: email address, create your username and password (which will be used to login to the GTN site later), and address information. 

6)      In the coupon discount enter -   turf09trial

7)      Click on apply to order.  The charges should update showing 0.00 dollars owed and the free order – no payment necessary highlighted

8)      Click  - “Review order”, which should summarize what was entered.

9)      Click – “Submit order”

10)   Now you will see order complete.  And the user name and password should be given. 

11)  The best thing now it to go to the real GTN member website: http://goglobalturf.org/

12)   Enter user name and password and click login.  You are in.

Again as a reminder, once you have created your username and password go to http://goglobalturf.org/ to access the site.
