You are required to live in the dorms your freshman year unless you are classified as a commuter student. After your freshman year, you are free to move off campus and live at a much lower total cost in an apartment or house. Several students stay in the dorms too years, and move off campus by their junior year, although this varies from person to person. Most students move out of the dorms and off campus their sophomore year.
