Road Show through the UK
Oct 19, 2009
While last week was cold and wet through Ohio, I was in the United Kingdom enjoying partly cloudy relatively warm temperatures. Actually, I was giving a series of presentations - 5 locations in 5 days through Scotland and England. The seminars were sponsored by Bernhard and Company and Syngenta UK. Besides the photos below, the links below are to short videos of the greenskeepers providing a short overview of each venue (may take a minute or two to load). Stephen Bache the grounds manager for Hampden Park (Scotland's National Stadium), Glascow Scotland was the host for the half-day seminars on October 12, 2009. Although Mr. Bache was not available, Gina Putnam with Bernhard and Company provides an overview of the week long events.

Lancaster Golf Club located in the northwestern part of England served as host for the Tuesday seminar. The clubhouse at this club is an old castle. Warren Bevan course manager provides an overview of the club.

Robin Hood Golf Club which was the host for Wednesday's activities is located in Solihull, West Midlands. Andy Wood who was just recently named golf course manager provides the overview.

The London Golf Club, Ash, Kent England served as host on Thursday. Peter Todd the course manager and current Chairman of BIGGA provides the overview.

The final stop of the five day excursion was at Bath Golf Club the 3rd oldest club in England. Ralph Allen who the club rented the land from his successors, constructed this "castle" referred to Sham Castle so he would have a pleasing view from his town house in Bath. Andrew Boyce the course manager provides an overview.
